"I began practicing yoga to aid in recovering range of movement after surgery to remove a tumor on my lowest left rib. I stepped into my first therapeutic yoga class in the winter of 2005 and have been in love with yoga and its benefits ever since. Not only did it help recover my full range of motion after a very large surgery, it helped me find a quiet space to rest my mind, and gain acceptance of where my body might be on a given day. It is my hope to be able to share with others what I've gained from practicing yoga - strength, mobility, patience and acceptance. Peace and Goodwill" Stacey Angel

"I became interested in practicing yoga to relieve my fibromyalgia symptoms. I don't like to take any medications, so I knew exercise, relaxation, and stress management along with healthy eating was the path I wanted to travel. I have always been active, but yoga helps me learn to relax, rest, and let my body renew itself. Yoga has also helped me have a more positive attitude towards how my body is feeling on any given day. My yoga practice is my personal therapy for less pain, more flexibility, and a calmer mind. I am the manager of my fibromyalgia and I refuse to let it control me. God Bless." Kay Smith

"I never enjoyed exercising until I began practicing yoga and Pilates. I love the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of both; however, I have a special passion for Pilates. I have my Mat Pilates Certification through Power Pilates and am a member of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). I enjoy sharing the benefits of Pilates with others." Mary Stewart

"I have been a registered nurse for over 25 years and have worked as a certified school nurse for the last ten. I believe that wellness is not only the absence of disease, but a balance of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. I also believe that most individuals have the potential to improve their health by nurturing their minds and bodies. Regular exercise is a critical component of a healthy lifestyle! I began taking Zumba classes in 2007 and immediately realized it was the perfect form of exercise for me. Soon thereafter, I became a certified Zumba instructor. Zumba's fusion of Latin and International music with energetic dance themes creates a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness system. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba is great for the mind, body and soul!" Kathy Whitlock

"I began taking yoga 4 years ago as a form of exercise because I heard it was a great stress reliever. I think I was drawn to it because of my dance, especially ballet background. I immediately fell in love with yoga and hungered to learn more as a student in class, through books, magazines and anything I could find! I am still learning, of course, but have come to a peaceful realization that yoga is so much more than poses on a mat. I am trying everyday to bring that yoga "state of mind" into my life outside the studio, as a wife and mother, a friend and as a stranger. I love teaching others about yoga and hearing their stories, and I love teaching at KO with such a fabulous group of women." Jennifer Davis
